Denford are ‘Proud Founders and Sponsors’ of the “F1 in Schools Technology Challenge”, the “4x4 in Schools Technology Challenge” and “GT in Schools – The Sports Car Design Challenge”.
These innovative educational projects are aimed at engaging students of all ages, in the process of Design and Manufacture, and encourage students to develop an informed view about careers in engineering, manufacturing, science and technology in a fun and positive way. In addition, these educational projects replicate the industrial design and manufacturing processes that are employed by our industrial partners including Jaguar Cars, JCB, Corus and BAE Systems, and allow Learners to study a topic area which extends their learning as part of a 14 to 19 Engineering Diploma, or as a standalone qualification. Denfords provide a comprehensive range of CAD/CAM/CNC solutions including CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, CNC Routers (available with metal cutting capability), laser Scanning Solutions, Rapid Prototyping machines and Laser Cutters and Engravers. Denfords CAD/CAM/CNC solutions include a package of Curriculum Support Materials which map the learning process to both the AQA City & Guilds and the Edexcel 14 to 19 Diplomas. The package covers both ‘Principle Learning Units and Outcomes’, and provides for the development of ‘Personal Learning & Thinking Skills’.
